Head of Circuit Design
Sergey Novikov
Sergey Novikov is the Head of Circuit Design at Atlantic Quantum, where he leads the company’s chip design efforts. His areas of focus include setting up practices for agile and scalable hardware design and driving mask tape-outs targeting a variety of fabrication processes.
In his previous role as a Senior Principal Physicist at Northrop Grumman, Sergey has led teams of physicists and engineers in designing both quantum and classical superconducting circuits and performed a variety of low-temperature measurements.
During his PhD, Sergey has studied quantum optics effects in cavity-QED systems. His work resulted in an experimental demonstration of an electromagnetically induced transparency in a superconducting system with engineered dissipation.
Sergey holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland and a BA in Physics and Computer Science from the University of Chicago.
